About Us
Sunrise Baptist Church in Kerrville, TX was founded in 1994 and incorporated as an independent church in 1996. Dr. Phil Tilden was the founding pastor; Dr. Mel Hardin became pastor in 2001 and retired in 2020. In November, 2020, Shon Wagner became our new Senior Pastor. Sunrise emphasizes Bible preaching and teaching, missions, ministry, fellowship and musical praise. Our worship style is traditional—we cherish our hymn books! Through the Cooperative Program of the Southern Baptist Convention, Sunrise supports thousands of missionaries serving on every continent.
